Masculinity has never been a concrete concept. As young women continue to break down the gender divide in the professional world, the millennial generation lives on the cusp of a new understanding of what it means to be a man.
The new masculine man is adapting to the era of female empowerment. Wearing and owning products that were once traditionally made for women. Instead of resisting these “feminine” trends they have been seen wearing crop tops, skinny jeans and leggings. Beyond fashion they have also followed some of the hair and beauty trends like manicures, pedicures and straightening hair treatments.
Most men are living fairly comfortably within a feminised world. With masculinity being reshaped and repackaged to include expressing emotions. Carefully taking care of their appearance, and caring more explicitly for children, parents and partners.
The female sex is seen to be the more attractive, social and empathetic. Instead of resisting these characteristics males are now inspired by them.
