Having visited 2 foreign countries recently I personally realized the importance of speaking other languages. In a globalized world where English is becoming more important we are also living in a world where travelling abroad is more valued. Especially among young people. Even if it is within their own country they are placing much value on learning another language that will help them engage with local people who speak a different language. Apps like DuoLingo are attractive to people because they want to prepare themselves for such situations when they are on holiday or in a new place and want to communicate with locals.
It also makes a person more interesting to others if they know more than one language.
Language and speaking to consumers has become one-dimensional. Brands should look into creative ideas in communicating and messaging that goes beyond the consumers first language. They can also look into teaching a new language to consumer.
